Voicing our Vision
Peer Support and Development Weekend
Workshop for Natural Vision Teachers
April 2008
6 natural vision teachers came together for 2 days of sharing and learning which was fun, sad, profound, energising, clarifying and inspiring.
We were all recent graduates of the College of Vision Education and on Saturday morning we came together and shared our experiences since finishing the course. It was great to be able to get together and talk about our own vision and our teaching work as we are all quite spread out around the country and don’t often meet.
On Saturday afternoon Susan Worsfold trained in the Voice Studio international technique lead the session. We were guided through breathing, relaxation, movement, singing and speaking. Our awareness of ourselves and the world around us was expanded and many of us were surprised at the power of our voices and our ability to express ourselves when our attention was brought to our voice. Some of us also experienced clear flashes of vision whilst doing the work. A very enlivening and inspiring workshop.
On Sunday Aileen Whiteford co-director of the College of Vision Education lead a session on how to give a talk and how to present a workshop on natural vision methods. We had discussion and also a pracitcal session where we actually planned our own workshop and talk. As we are all just at the beginning of building our natural vision practices this information was very useful and made the thought of giving a talk or workshop much less daunting. We have the tools now to make it happen!
Thank you to everyone who took part.
"I found the voice I always knew I had", James.
"I was astounded at the power of the voice and breathing in shifting negative emotions. As a consequence of the weekend’s activities I feel empowered and have gained confidence to go forward with building my career in vision education." Jane.
Looking forward to more peer support and development time in the future.
